Trustee, Vernard Bennett

Vernard Bennett Biography

Throughout Vernard’s 37-year service career, he has demonstrated exceptional leadership in managing large projects and organizations, while effectively navigating complex relationships with employee unions, corporate boards, and governmental entities. As a Vice President at the NJSEA, a quasi-governmental entity, Vernard was responsible for ensuring the seamless operation of guest services and wagering services at multiple venues.

Vernard’s commitment to advocating for affordable housing and support for the elderly is deeply rooted in his personal experiences growing up in the “Grant Projects” in Harlem, New York. Witnessing his parents’ struggles with governmental bureaucracy despite their resilience and hard work, has inspired his belief that affordable housing is a fundamental right and a critical societal need.

Vernard is grateful for the opportunity to serve as a Trustee at Winchester House 2, where he contributes to the noble cause of providing affordable housing solutions for the community.
