Visiting Someone at The Winchester House

Visitors are welcome at The Winchester House apartments provided that we are not under a state of quarantine and so long as visitors abide by the house guidelines.

IF a visitor is experiencing ANY of the following symptoms, we ask that you postpone your visit until you are completely free of symptoms for no less than 24-hours to protect not only your loved one in the building but all of our residents.

Specific Symptoms Include:

  • Fever or feeling feverish/chills
  • Cough or Sore throat
  • Runny or stuffy nose
  • Muscle or body aches
  • Headache
  • Fatigue (tiredness)
  • Vomiting and/or diarrhea

PARKING

Parking at The Winchester House is very limited, and it is reserved for residents, staff, and vendors. There are a few Visitor spaces for those that will be in the building for 20 minutes or less. If you are coming to visit for a period of time longer than 20 minutes, you will need to park off property. There are on-street metered spaces or there is the Court Square auto park across the street.

VISITING ANIMALS

Visiting animals are not permitted in the building. If you wish to bring your animal to visit a resident at The Winchester House, you may bring them to the area in the back by the swings and the resident may meet you there for a visit.

BUILDING ENTRY

During staffed hours, there should be staff available to admit you to the building. Monday – Friday 8 am – 8 pm and Weekends from 10 am – 6 pm except published holidays. There is a sensor on the door. (Please stand back to allow the door to be opened)

If you are visiting after hours, you will need to arrange for the resident to come to the lobby to let you into the building. Please keep in mind our quiet hours are 9 pm – 9 am

At no time should anyone other than the resident themselves use their door code to enter the building. In the event of an emergency, Winchester Police and Winchester Fire and Rescue departments have codes to enter the building and access to keys to handle any situation.

ALL visitors must sign in and out of our guest book each time they enter or exit the building for any reason. *This is a fire safety regulation

SMOKING

Shenandoah Fellowship Foundation and The Winchester House is a smoke-free property. NO smoking is allowed anywhere in the building or on Winchester House or Shenandoah Fellowship Foundation property.

Any smoking outside must be done off-property. Off Property to the South is past the Henkle House Driveway. To the North, past the brick wall, or you may go to the walking mall.

VISITING CHILDREN

Visiting children must be under the direct supervision of an adult at all times during their visit. (should be within reach of their adult)

Children are not allowed to run in the hallways, play on the elevators or in the stairwells. Children are not permitted to operate any machinery within the building. (laundry machines, vending machines, etc.)

Children are not permitted to attend any Winchester House sponsored activities.

Residents are not permitted to babysit any children on a regular basis.
